Home again, without the stairs

A vertical platform lift, often called a porch lift or wheelchair elevator, is a small open‑air elevator. You stay seated in your wheelchair, power chair or scooter while it carries you from the driveway up to your porch, deck or garage door. It runs on household power and takes a fraction of the space of a ramp. New lifts from $7,995 for up to 5 feet.

“Your comfort is everything!” Electropedic, since 1964.

How much ramp would you need?

A wheelchair ramp needs one foot of length for every inch of rise. Slide to the height of your porch and see the ramp it would take, drawn to scale, beside the lift that does the same job.

Long ramps also need level landings, and often switchbacks, so the real footprint is usually larger.

    Built for safety, every ride

A platform lift is a small elevator, and it is built like one. These features come standard or as options on the lifts we install.

    • Constant‑pressure control

The lift moves only while you hold the switch, and stops the moment you let go.

    • Gates and ramps

Safety gates at the top and an auto‑fold ramp at the bottom keep wheels on the platform.

    • Manual lowering

An emergency hand crank or battery backup brings you down in a power outage.

    • All weather

Powder‑coated steel, stainless hardware and sealed electrics for desert heat and mountain snow.
